According to the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum dated 20 Dec 21, there is no upper age restriction for apprenticeship training. However, candidates should meet the minimum age requirements of 14 years for non-hazardous trades and 18 years for hazardous trades, as per The Apprentice Act 1961. It's important to note that while there is no upper age limit for apprenticeship training, there may be age limits set in the recruitment rules for specific posts, such as Tradesman Skilled in Naval Dockyard, Mumbai.
Notification: Naval Dockyard Mumbai Apprentice Stipend Update
We're pleased to announce revised stipends for our apprentices at Naval Dockyard Mumbai:
For ITI Passed: Rs. 7000/- per month For Fresher Candidates: Rs. 6000/- per month
Additionally, during the second year of training, all apprentices will receive a 10% increase in their stipends.

Previous Training: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act - 1961 in any Govt/Public Sector/Private Industrial organization are not eligible to apply for the current enrollment.
Preliminary Merit List: Candidates ranked by ITI/grade percentage. Ties resolved by Std. X/grade percentage, then date of birth, and alphabetically.
Written Exam: Multiple-choice exam (Science, Maths, Awareness). No negative marking, bilingual, held in Mumbai.
Provisional Merit List: Based on written exam marks. Ties resolved by date of birth, then alphabetically. Candidates called for interviews in 1:3 ratio.
Interview: Held in Mumbai, includes document verification and trade skills test.
Final Merit List: Combines exam and interview marks. Reserve list included. Candidates called for training based on merit and fitness.
Candidates informed via email, advised to check regularly.
Candidates must visit https://registration.ind.in/ to fill out the online application. The portal opens three days after the notification is published in Employment News and remains active for 21 days. Required documents include a passport-sized photo, SSC/Matriculation mark sheet, ITI mark sheet (if applicable), and community certificate (for SC/ST/OBC). Physical disability certificate (if applicable), Armed Forces Personnel/ex-Servicemen certificate (if applicable), and identity proof like Aadhaar/PAN/Passport should also be uploaded. Self-photographs and mobile phone/camera images are not accepted. Follow instructions closely for successful submission!
