A total of 320 posts are available, with online applications being accepted from June 13 to July 3, 2024. The written exam is scheduled for October 13, 2024. Candidates must meet the educational qualification of 10+2 pass for Navik (GD) and 10th pass + 3 years Diploma in relevant Engineering for Yantrik. The age limit is 18 to 22 years as on July 1, 2024. Selection will be based on written exam, physical fitness test, document verification, interview and medical exam. The selected candidates will be offered a salary in the range of Rs. 21,700 - Rs. 92,300 per month.

Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Maths and Physics from a COBSE recognized board to be eligible for the Navik (General Duty) post. For the Yantrik post, candidates need to have passed Class 10th from a COBSE board and possess a 3 or 4 year AICTE approved Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering. Alternatively, candidates can also apply with Class 10th & 12th pass from COBSE and a 2 or 3 year AICTE Diploma in the above mentioned streams. It is mandatory to fill in the marks of all subjects accurately as mentioned in the mark sheets while applying online, as incorrect or incomplete filling will lead to cancellation of candidature. Candidates must also bring the original or provisional diploma certificate during the recruitment stages as per the instructions provided.
The promotion prospects for the enrolled personnel include up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari/Pradhan Sahayak Engineer with a pay scale of Rs. 47,600/- (Pay Level 8), along with an additional Yantrik pay of Rs. 6,200/- for Yantriks. The selection for Officer cadre is subject to suitability and performance. Other key benefits include free ration, clothing, and medical treatment for the candidate and their family, as well as government accommodation and retirement benefits like Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and Gratuity.

The Indian Coast Guard has announced the tentative vacancies for the Navik (GD) and Yantrik posts for the 01/2025 intake. The vacancies for Navik (GD) are region-wise, including the North region, covering Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, NCT of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh, with a total of 77 vacancies. The West region, which includes Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, and Lakshadweep, has 66 vacancies. The North East region, consisting of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Orissa, has 68 vacancies. The East region, covering Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, has 34 vacancies. The North West region, which is only Gujarat, has 12 vacancies. Lastly, the Andaman & Nicobar region, covering the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has 3 vacancies. For the Yantrik posts, a total of 60 vacancies are available at the all-India level, distributed across Mechanical (33), Electrical (18), and Electronics (9). These vacancies are tentative and subject to change.
The written exam for the Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) & Yantrik (01/2025) Recruitment 2024 will have 5 sections testing candidates on subjects like Maths, Science, English, Reasoning, GK, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering. The total marks are 260, and the passing marks are 30 for UR/EWS/OBC and 27 for SC/ST categories. After the written exam, shortlisted candidates will undergo an Ability Test to assess their technical skills and aptitude. This will be followed by a rigorous Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which includes a 1.6 km run, 10 push-ups, and 10 sit-ups. Candidates must meet the minimum physical standards to qualify for the next stage of document verification, interview, and medical examination. The selection process is highly competitive, and candidates are advised to thoroughly prepare for each stage to increase their chances of getting selected in the Indian Coast Guard.
