Selection: Bihar SHS CHO Recruitment 2024 Selection process for 4500 Posts

The State Health Society (SHS), Bihar has released a notification for the recruitment of 4500 Community Health Officer (CHO) posts. The online application process commenced on 01 July 2024 and will conclude on 21 July 2024. Eligible candidates can apply through the official website shs.bihar.gov.in.

  • Written Examination (CBT)
    • The written exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) featuring objective-type questions.
    • The exam will be of 2 hours duration and will have 100 marks.
    • The exam syllabus will cover topics like Child Health, Adolescent Health, Maternal Health, Family Planning, and Communicable & Non-Communicable Diseases.
    • The minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are 30% overall.
  • Document Verification
    • Candidates who clear the written exam will be called for document verification.
    • They will have to produce original copies of all the documents submitted during application.
    • Candidates will be required to bring a set of self-attested photocopies of the documents as well.
  • Medical Examination
    • After document verification, candidates will have to undergo a medical examination.
    • They will be examined by a medical board to assess their physical and mental fitness for the CHO post.
    • The medical exam will be conducted at a designated hospital or medical facility.
  • Final Selection
    • The final selection will be based on the performance in the written exam and the candidate's rank in the merit list.
    • The merit list will be prepared by the State Health Society, Bihar.
    • Selected candidates will be appointed as Community Health Officers in Bihar.

There are 4500 vacancies for the post of Community Health Officer (CHO).

B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or GNM degree along with a Certificate in Community Health (CCH) is required.
