| CBT | - Standard: 10th/Matric level - Duration: 90 minutes, 120 questions - Marking: +1 for correct, -1/3 for wrong - Pass Percentage: UR, EWS, OBC-NCL - 35%, SC & ST - 30% - Syllabus: Arithmetic, Reasoning, General Awareness |
| PET/PMT | - Criteria include running, long jump, high jump, height, and chest measurements. - PET/PMT is qualifying, no marks awarded. - Ex-servicemen undergo PMT. |
| DV | - Based on CBT performance, subject to PET & PMT qualification. - SC, ST, OBC-NCL & EWS candidates counted against UR vacancies. - Appointment subject to medical, document, and character verification, and training. |
| Medical Examination | - Candidates undergo medical examination at Railway Hospitals. - Must qualify in medical category ‘B-1’ as per Indian Railway Medical Manual. - Certain infirmities disqualify candidates. |
