Age Limit: Age Limit & Relaxation for SAIL Management Trainee (Technical) 249 Positions in 2024

SAIL is recruiting 249 Management Trainee (Technical) positions through GATE 2024 scores in various engineering disciplines. The online application process commenced on July 5, 2024 and will close on July 25, 2024.

The upper age limit for SAIL Management Trainee (Technical) Recruitment 2024 is 28 years as on July 25, 2024 (i.e. not born earlier than July 25, 1996). However, age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to certain categories as per the following:

  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
  • OBC (NCL) candidates: 3 years relaxation
  • PwBD candidates:
    • 10 years for General category
    • 15 years for SC/ST category
    • 13 years for OBC(NCL) category
  • Departmental Candidates: 45 years irrespective of the caste/category

The maximum age limit is 28 years, which gets relaxed for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the above table. Departmental candidates get the maximum relaxation of 45 years.

The age is calculated as on the closing date of online application, which is July 25, 2024. Candidates must ensure they meet the age criteria on this date to be eligible for the SAIL MT recruitment.

SAIL is recruiting MTs in Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Metallurgy engineering disciplines.

Candidates must possess a BE/B.Tech degree in the relevant engineering discipline.

Yes, a valid GATE 2024 score in the corresponding paper is mandatory to apply for SAIL MT posts.

The application fee is ₹700 for GEN/OBC and ₹200 for SC/ST/PWBD/ESM/Departmental Candidates.

Upon successful completion, candidates will be designated as Assistant Manager (E1 Grade) in the pay scale of ₹60,000-1,80,000/-.
