Selection: Selection Process for SSC Stenographer 2024 Exam
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the SSC Stenographer 2024 notification on July 26, 2024. The application process will be open from July 26 to August 17, 2024.
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- The CBT exam will be conducted in October-November 2024 (tentative)
- It will consist of 200 MCQ questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language & Comprehension
- Total marks will be 200, with a duration of 2 hours
- Negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer
- Skill Test in Stenography
- Candidates qualifying the CBT will appear for the Skill Test
- For Grade D, 800 words dictation at 80 wpm, to be transcribed in 50 minutes
- For Grade C, 1000 words dictation at 100 wpm, to be transcribed in 40 minutes
- The Skill Test is qualifying in nature
- Document Verification
- Candidates qualifying the Skill Test will have to bring original documents for verification
- Documents required include 10th/12th certificates, photo ID, caste/PWD certificates, etc.
- A final merit list will be prepared based on the CBT marks of qualified candidates
- Medical Examination
- Candidates selected after Document Verification will undergo a medical exam
- They will be appointed as Stenographers Grade C or D based on their performance
